Established in 2012 and co-led by Drs. Rajesh Tandon and Budd Hall, the UNESCO Chair in Community-Based Research and Social-Responsibility in Higher Education, reimagines the role of higher education through socially responsible, inclusive, and community-engaged research and teaching.
A central pillar of the Chair’s work is advancing Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR), a collaborative approach that centers community voices and shared knowledge creation.
Through initiatives like the Knowledge for Change (K4C) Global Consortium, the Chair builds global capacity to address real-world challenges by training the next generarion of CBPR practitioners and empowering communities through democratizing knowledge.
