Members of the UNESCO Chair in Community- Based Research and Social Responsibility in Higher Education team participated in a meeting convened by the Ministry of Education of India, the UNESCO Delhi Office, and over 15 active UNESCO Chairs based in India. The discussion was both reaffirming and energising, reflecting a strong shared commitment across stakeholders to advance the work of UNESCO Chairs in the country. It was particularly encouraging to hear about the diverse and important initiatives being undertaken by fellow Chairs.

It was a valuable opportunity to meet and engage with new and to share updates on our India-focused work, including our planned Mid-Term Programmes (MTPs) and Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs).

A key outcome of the discussions was the exploration of convening a meeting of UNESCO Chairs in March at the Amrita University campus in South India.

This meeting reaffirmed our commitment to strengthening our work and we look forward to 2026 as a year of deeper collaboration and collective action, enabling us to undertake even more meaningful and impactful work, along with other UNESCO Chairs.
