The 8th international Adaptation Futures Conference (AF2025) will be held in Ōtautahi Christchurch, New Zealand, from 13 to 16 October 2025. It is hosted by the University of Canterbury Te Whare Wānanga o Waitaha with regional Oceania and international partners.

Adaptation Futures is the flagship event of the World Adaptation Science Programme (WASP). The premier international climate change adaptation conference series enables practitioners, policymakers, researchers, and academics from around the world to gather, network, collaborate, learn, and inspire.

Dr. Rajesh Tandon will be presenting a paper for the same in New Zealand titled “Dialogue on Knowledge Democracy”. This paper will look at the fifty Years of Participatory Research in the Global South and in Māori and Pacific communities, highlighting the lessons, challenges, and going beyond adaptation

Dr Rajesh Tandon will also be conducting a Panel Discussion titled “Community-led Research; Climate Resilience: Emerging Lessons from DECODE” along with Dr Rafeah Wahi.
