An international dialogue is being jointly organized by UNESCO Chair in Community Based Research and Social Responsibility in Higher Education, UNESCO New Delhi Cluster Office, Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and International Development Research Centre (IDRC) in New Delhi, India; from September 18-20, 2019
This international dialogue of two days is going to bring together practitioners, academicians and Gandhian philosophers to explore the relevance, applications and impacts of Mahatma Gandhi’s theory and practice on education, learning and knowledge to higher education in India and the world. Drawing from individual and institutional practices, the dialogue is going to be a unique platform to facilitate cross country dialogue on what Gandhi offers to the world of Higher Education. The first leg of the dialogue is organized on September 18th, 2019 and is being hosted by Association of Indian Universities at India International Centre, New Delhi. The dialogue is primarily going to be a POLICY ROUNDTABLE on Making Higher Education Relevant to Society by drawing lessons from Gandhi’s life and ideals. The last leg of this important dialogue is being hosted by UNESCO New Delhi Cluster office on September 20th, 2019. This dialogue is going to highlight national and international perspectives of Gandhi and Higher Education and is hosting speakers from diverse fields, backgrounds and countries of talk about Gandhi and his relevance to Higher Education today.
