The UNESCO Chair in Community Based Research & Social Responsibility in Higher Education, in partnership with the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), organized a Policy Dialogue on ‘Strengthening Community Engagement in Higher Education: Lessons from around the world’, on April 25, 2016. The dialogue witnessed participation by senior academics, representatives from the policy sector, international experts, and civil society organizations. Sharing their experiences at the dialogue were Dr Budd Hall, UNESCO Co-Chair & Professor, University of Victoria, and Dr Takayoshi Kusago, from Kansai University, Japan. The speakers also included Dr Rajesh Tandon, UNESCO Co-Chair & Founder-President, PRIA; Dr Nidhi Sabharwal, Associate Professor, National University Educational Planning & Administration (NUEPA), and Dr Surajit Sarkar, Associate Professor, Ambedkar University, Delhi.
The deliberations at the dialogue resulted in key policy recommendations, which will be followed up by the Chair in the future, together with its partners.
