Greetings!
The Canadian Association for the Study of Adult Education (CASAE) would like to invite you to the upcoming webinar of our CASAE Methodology webinar series on Community-Based Research. The webinar will be presented by Dr. Budd Hall (Co-Chair, UNESCO Chair in CBR), Dr. Walter Lepore (Research Director, UNESCO Chair in CBR), and Suriani Dzulkifli (Coordinator of the Knowledge for Change Mentor Training Programme).
Is Community-Based Research a Methodology or an Ethics of Engagement?
Community-Based Research is often presented as a research method, sometime even a qualitative research option. But is it really a research method? This webinar will share information about principles of community based participatory research. It will also share two examples of research which have been informed by these principals, one doctoral study being carried out by Suriani Dzulkifli and another study led by Dr. Walter Lepore working on bridging Indigenous and Western Environmental knowledge. We will end with an opportunity for questions.
When: Tuesday, May 12th from 11am to 12:30pm Victoria, BC time (Regina, SK: 12noon; Toronto, ON: 2pm; Halifax, NS: 3pm).
About the Presenters:
