Today, as a society, we are faced with multiple challenges. Prominent among them is widespread poverty amidst prosperity, mounting GDPs and rising unemployment, increase in economic growth, but declining human development indicators. Therefore, the pressing need of the hour is to question, as to ‘why so’? Where are we lacking? And the most importantly, what do we do now? Therefore, on the occasion of the 12th Higher Education Summit at FICCI, the UNESCO Chair in Community Based Research & Social Responsibility in Higher Education will be conducting a master class for exploring the aforementioned dimensions, on November 9, 2016 from 2 PM to 4 PM. The two-hour long Master Class will especially focus on what role our HEIs can play as an agent of social change, and for fulfilling their social responsibilities.
Community University Engagement (CUE) is one of the crucial ways in which this can be realized. Therefore, a fresh perspective on this unique idea will be presented, focusing primarily on practical action-points, by way of culling out strategies for sustainable CUE. Attending the class will be participants from varied domains such as academia, civil society, government, etc.
