Budd paid a visit to Laval University, Canada’s oldest university on January 28 and 29, 2019 at the invitation of Professor Florence Piron. While the weather was cold, the welcome was very warm indeed. Budd met with Claude Savard, the Deputy Vice Rector in the Office of the Vice-Rector for Academic and Student Affairs and Pierre Lemay, the Assistant to the Vice-Rector, External and International Affairs who coordinates the Universities response to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. In addition, Budd made a presentation on Épistémicides et reconstruction des savoirs et épistémologies du monde endogène/autochtone d’Afrique et d’Amérique, on the Knowledge for Change (K4C) programme and on La connaissance, la communauté et les objectifs de développement durable de l’ONU. His powerpoints are available to download. The UNESCO Chair is exploring possibilities of establishing a K4C hub at Laval and collaborating with Laval on a future research programme on CBPR and the SDGs.
