Prof. Budd Hall, Founder of the Office of Community Based Research (OCBR) at the University of Victoria, Canada, and Prof. Rajesh Tandon, President of the Society for Participatory Research in Asia (PRIA), India, started collaborating with GUNi in 2008, during the elaboration of the 3rdGUNi Report on Higher Education in the World 3: New Challenges and Emerging Roles for Human and Social Development. Since then, the co-chairs of the UNESCO Chair in Community Based Research and Social Responsibility in Higher Education (UCCBR-SR) have strengthened links with GUNi through several collaborations leading up to the recent publication of the 5th GUNi Report, in which both facted as guest editors.
This successful involvement with GUNi activities has culminated in the promotion of the GUNi report during 2014, with an outstanding worldwide impact as a result.
In this framework, both parties agreed to continue collaborating in spreading the contents and main ideas of the 5th GUNi Report, as well as promoting the recommendations and future views compiled in that publication to policymakers, practitioners and specialists in the field.
