The Action Research Network of the Americas (ARNA) brings together people of the Americas and beyond who engage in and support action research. The fifth ARNA conference will be held from June 12-15, 2017 in Cartagena, Columbia. This conference seeks to:
• Celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the First World Symposium on Action Research and the 20th anniversary of the 4th World Congress of the Association of Action Learning and Action Research (ALARA) and the 8th Meeting of Participatory Action Research
• To convene the 5th Annual Conference of Research Action Network of the Americas (ARNA)
• To convene the first global assembly for democratization of knowledge
• Share the results of the work with participatory approaches to research worldwide, and promote dialogues
Apart from the main conference, and the first global assembly on knowledge democracy, Dr Rajesh Tandon will be a part of several other events while in Columbia. He will speak at two half day workshops on Higher education, community engagement and knowledge democracy in contexts of (post)conflict, at the UNAL, Bogota campus on June 7-8. Following this will be a tribute event for Orlando Fals Borda on June 9; where Dr Tandon will share insights on ‘Orlando’s legacy to Participatory Research’. Further, he will deliberate at a Symposium on ‘Challenges in CBR & Peace Building’ hosted by the University les-Andes, Columbia, and University of Lincoln-UK; on June 12; where he will be speaking on the ‘Systemic challenges of Fals Borda and others’ legacies in different contexts and circumstances’.
