The 2nd HEIRRI Conference was organized on April 27, 2018 in Vienna, Austria. The HEIRRI (Higher Education Institution and Responsible Research and Innovation) project is a Horizon 2020 project and funded by the European Union. The HEIRRI consortium concluded its second and last conference with much success where it shared the milestones achieved by the project. The Conference also offered a platform and space for rich deliberations and discussion on the topic of responsible research and innovation. The implication of RRI on the teaching and learning process at HEIs , along with similar projects of the EU, was shared. As many as 43 countries participated in the conference.
On behalf of the UNESCO Chair, Ms. Wafa Singh, the India Research Coordinator participated in the conference, where she presented the Chair’s K4C initiative in the speed dating session, along with 27 similar projects. She detailed out the journey of K4C since its conception till its present form with the ongoing first Mentor Training Program (MTP) cohort. K4C gathered much interest among the conference participants. Many queries emerged from the audience on the process of becoming a hub under K4C, and hopefully this platform will expand K4C’s outreach and the good efforts can be scaled up to more countries across the globe.
Many of the Chair’s colleagues like Dr Nadja Gmelch from Calalonia, Dr Norbert Steinhaus, Alicia Betts ftom GUNi attended the conference, along with many others.
