Our Mentors
The K4C certified mentors associated with this hub have already completed 21 weeks Mentor Training Program (MTP), including 2 weeks of a face-to-face component conducted in 2017 in PRIA, New Delhi and in 2018 in University of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. The following are the certified Mentors associated with the Hub

    • Prof. R. Venugopal: Centre of Women Study, PRSU, Raipur, Chhattisgarh

Professor and Dean of Physical Education, Director at the Centre for Women’s Studies. Coordinator and Mentor at the K4C hub. Has taught undergraduate/postgraduate classes in teacher’s training courses in physical education for twenty nine years. Research interest in areas of women and health, gender issues, tribal women, and children. Area of specialization is exercise physiology.

    • Dr. Lukeshwar Gajpal: SoS in Sociology, PRSU, Raipur, Chhattisgarh
    • Dr. Shailendra Kumar: SoS in Anthropology, PRSU, Raipur, Chhattisgarh

Assistant Professor, School of Studies in Anthropology (UGC- JRF Anthropology, UGC- NET Sociology) Mentor, K4C hub. Has taught post-graduate/Ph.D. classes about tribal development, research methodologies, and theories of social-cultural anthropology for five years. Specializes in development policies and applies research methodologies. Areas of interest: social problems and other tribal community issues.

    • Ms. Nandita Pradhan Bhatt: Development practitioner, PRIA

K4C Mentor, 25+ years of sector experience. Senior Program Manager in PRIA’s Gender unit, coordinating operations of Martha Farrell Foundation. Has facilitated workshops in India/abroad on themes the prevention of workplace sexual harassment, violence against women, community based participatory research, participatory training methodologies. Has conducted research on developing gender friendly work environments.

Our Courses

    • One Hub course – Certificate Course in Community Based Participatory Research
    • A 6 month long course housed in the Women’s Studies Centre of the Pandit Ravi Shankar Shukla University – open to students of any discipline
    • Two in-person workshops – open to the public to attend
        • First deadline of the course is nearing closure, the second course opening will be available from July 1st 2019
        • Advertising for admissions for the same will be made public on May 1st 2019

Our Goals
This focus of this Hub is to advance the agenda of CBPR in the broad framework of supporting SDG 5 on Gender and inequality and will cover gender issues under SDG 3,4,10 and 17.
